Do you suppose India's vote counting efficiency has anything to do with India's electoral system operating on electronic voting machines coupled with electoral rules specifying that there must be a polling station within two kilometers of every habitation -i.e. 1m+ voting stations?

That's because Indian elections are run by the federal government, while America holds 50 separate state elections.

Simply put the "American Government" doesn't count -any- votes.

Ok! I got Ya! You are beating up on the term "government". Nit-picking between a federal government and a state government (or local, or whatever)! WHATEVER! It is still a "GOVERNMENT"!
Even then, that does not change the fact that a 3rd World country with 6 times the voters of America, with huge challenges with transportation, and a large rural population (hard to reach) just under 3 times the entire American population... does it in one day!

No, I'm pointing out that in the United States, we have 50 different elections with 50 different sets of laws about how votes are tallied, recounted, and reported.

If you want election results in a single day, it could easily happen if the elections were run by the federal government like they are in India, but then you'd be crying about "states' rights".

- more 1 million polling stations
- more than 464 political parties
- more than 100 million first-time voters
- and a voting population many times larger than America's.
