The Crime: Payment to Stormy Daniels categorized as a legal expense instead of a campaign expense with intent to conceal the payment. Falsifying business records was elevated to a felony because of NY 17-152. Still not sure how intent was determined. Maybe someone can help. These facts are difficult to find on the Web for some reason.

So it looks like "intent" was based on Cohen's testimony. Cohen is a proven liar. He admitted that he lied to Congress in 2023. Cohen also admitted in court that he stole money from Trump. What a legal mess! This conviction will never stand up to appeal.
