You can’t just make something up and cling onto it because it makes you feel better. Other people have to do it for you. Those are the rules.

We appear to have reached an impasse

I don't know, I've never seen birds lined up to take an escalator. Most of them bitches start from the ground.

I applaud the sentiment of wanting the peace of oblivion after this shit show ends, but this life is about as far as it's possible to get from eternal and happy. I'm happy enough settling for not too miserable, and even that is a tall order.

I wasn't talking about your life i was talking about my own. And i don't know why i said eternal happiness in this life because i meant to just say happiness. But i think life gets more fun if you're convinced that you only live once. If you know you don't have infinite time that might give you some motivation to do all the things you want to do and live your life to the fullest before it ends.

And i think heaven being "eternal happiness" might have to do with the fact that it's high up in the sky where the air is much thinner. With not enough oxygen, the brain won't work properly so your brain will probably see every situation as funny then.

A theologian would tell you it's actually outside of our dimension, as that explains why got is all around but invisible. That being said though, I respect your opinion, and in many ways, it makes some sense. I do have a lot of atheist friends, all of whom are good people, so I don't necessarily Believe that having religion means you are a better person. I do think however religion can also make some sense, as such why I'm Catholic. Yet again, I respect your views, because they are based.

And that doesn't mean I share your view, but I respect it.
