Um, no, Supply Side has never turned out it as promised to be for the lower economic strata.
Only the rich got richer in the 20s, then their balloon busted, and the Great Depression affected everybody. Wait, you are right, trickle down is really a thing.
Trump did nothing to slow the export of American jobs in manufacturer and coal, etc, other than make promises. His tax cuts benefited the rich and corporations. What little was given to the middle and lower class is set to expire 2025, unlike the cuts for the wealthier, which are permanent.
To think that Trump cares about the poor - including his base, that he wouldn't even let enter his posh resorts to so much is clean toilets - is hilarious.
It's a regional thing, going back centuries, a brainwashing that somehow by supporting the elite, the dirt poor - which is the majority of their population - will somehow be elevated someday on a day that isn't yet today. By latching on to someone like a Trump, they think eventually they will become like him. And yet those Southern States are still the poorest, as they have been since the Colonial Era. Granted, there have been some strides courtesy of FDR throwing money away a New Deal projects to improve their lives, but that requires a continual infusion just to keep the flow to maintain a certain standard. Little, if any of it, is generated locally. Although I guess there's Walmart, which is a Southern corp. But then that's about it. One company. Other than that, they're totally dependent on the federal government.
Trump's tariff war with China cost jobs as well. Soybeans another agricultural properties rotted on the ground with no case to sell. Then farmers had to be bailed out because of the backlash.
During Biden's term, the United States of America has had the biggest recovery in the world since the 2020 Covid Crash, the biggest GDP, #1 strengthening currency... even, believe it or not, a lesser rate of inflation compared to all other countries.
But you already know this.
