Alain stares blankly, shocked. Ned groans slightly, and Rika is unconscious due to having a f**king mini fridge launched at her, her forehead swelling slightly. Alain looks to his friends and back to the three new strangers. Hesitantly, he greets them with, “H-hello. Uh, my friends are a bit hurt from the objects that..” he trails off, feeling lightheaded. “Damn it,” he thought. “That.. that chair did a.. a number on me..” And there was a thud.
About an hour later, Alain awoke. Above him was Emily. Panicked, Alain sits up, accidentally headbutting her in the process. They both groan in pain as Alain attempts to stand. He looks around, and everyone else is fine. Ned is smiling at Alain, and Rika has made a full recovery. Alain stands there, sputtering. He runs to Rika and Ned, hugging the both of them, tears in his eyes. This surprises Rika and Ned, but they hug Alain back smiling. Alain sat in their arms, bawling his eyes out. How sad.
Eventually, the group, with three new members, set out to find the Professor. While he was obviously in the lab, the building was MASSIVE and damn near impossible to navigate. After Rabmon’s killing spree, the halls were crawling with guards, which Rabmon dealt with easily.. the others couldn’t fight quite as well as he could. Except Joseph. He fought with great skill, making killing blows left and right. He stabs a guard, pulls his weapon out of the body, cleaves another guard’s head off, then throws his weapon at a third. The rest just stayed behind, watching and hoping not to get in Joseph or Rabmon’s way.
As they finally made their way to the professor’s (pretty big) office, they all knew something felt.. off. As if the fragile balance of, well, everything had been disrupted. They noticed two things: a large pit in the middle of the room, and the professor, calmly sitting in his chair, with a small animal in his arms. “Welcome to my office,” he says. “As you can see, the recent portal experiments have not gone so wel-”
He is cut off by Joseph, who grabs him by the collar. The animal leaps out of the professor’s arms, making a misstep and falling into the pit. A silent minute passes. No shouting. No screeches of the animal hitting the bottom of the pit. Nothing. Joseph’s gaze pierces the air, aimed at the professor. “You have upset the universe. You have toyed with nature and physics, bending them to your twisted desires.” He holds the professor over the pit, causing everyone to panic silently.
