I totally agree. When I was growing up, I didn't cuss because it was seen as disrespectful and obscene. Now, kids are dropping f bombs and slurs like the n-word(I'm black by the way). Also, music has changed a lot. Back then, kids were listening to child-appropriate kids songs that were fun and positive. Now, kids listen to music with heavy profanity, violence, and illegal activity.

Also, kids try to be tough by flexing weapons, drugs, and body counts now. Even 5 years ago, it was cool to flex a laptop, good grades, games, or having a good, reliable, group of friends.

Nowadays, kids act like they're tough and gangster and cuss a lot. Man, I blame the pandemic and TikTok for all of the ish in today's world. Might be happy it gets deleted.

i remember in the forth grade, i saw someone pretending that a crayon was a cigarette, and another kids was pretending a marker was a vape

Cussing is not solely a "kid problem". There are many adults who cuss frequently. Elon Musk cusses when people disappoint him, disrespect him, push his buttons, or drive him crazy. So does Gordon Ramsay. So does Julie Andrews. So did Alex Trebek. So did Bobby Knight. So did Woody Hayes. The list goes on. If adults don't like it when kids cuss, maybe those adults should stop cussing so much, if it's possible to do so.

We should also address the root causes of profanity. One root cause of profanity is trying to fit in. Alex Trebek used to cuss a lot to be "one of the guys". When he realized it didn't work and it just made him sound like a big phony, he quit for the most part. The second root cause of profanity is anger. If you make someone mad enough, that someone will turn into a lean, mean cussing machine.

It is sad that today's kids care more about being "tough" than anything else, though.

I fully agree, if adults don't want kids to cuss, they should be setting a better example.

Bro once in fourth or fifth grade, I slid behind a gym cushion, which was up against a wall, and two seconds later some *don't want to swear on this post* decided to run at the cushion and jump-kick it, ramming my head into the wall at full force. When I came out from behind it, she was so fudging proud of herself that she couldn't even stop smiling at my pain. One of the kids a few seconds later said "Good job :insert *bleep* name:" to her. The worst part is that she didn't even get in any trouble.

If someone kicked you in the knee and said they were sorry, would you believe them? Would it make the pain go away or the bruise heal? I think not.
