To be honest, I enjoyed it also.🤭
You are sadly, completely accurate on your assessment that we were raised in a different time - a different world. The rule of law used to mean something. Courtesy, honor, loyalty, duty, shouldering responsibility for one's actions and for society as a whole. We have gone from "The Greatest Generation" to what is looking like "The Last/Weakest Generation" in just four score years. Interesting juxtaposition of time spans, each resulting in societal conflict. One side trying to burn the country down - tear it apart for the sake of doing what they want and interpreting laws and morality to benefit them and their "power and control". I get that it is now discussed as a States rights disagreement. The caveat being that all states that signed onto the Confederate States had to agree with the enslavement of their fellow humans.
The open border resembles a human version of a swarm of locusts and that remains unsustainable even in a short term. It is leaving every community dealing with it ravaged and in shambles. It remains to be seen if anything remains in 2025.
