"Going Postal"

In a world where UPS and FedEx make bank year after year doing the same job, it's not a coincidence that the private sector will always outperform a government controlled business. Governmental healthcare equal disaster. "Keep the citizens safe from foreign and domestic threats AND stay out our lives and our wallets."

Excellent comment re UPS/FedEx & how well they do their jobs (striving to keep the public happy and their reputations sound).

And, yes, the Government loves to misappropriate & redistribute our money, Diogenes.

We, fortunately, moved FROM a town whose PO mirrored what's described above, TO one that's so small, the PO is only open 4 hrs a day (we're also 5 or 6 miles outta town). However... The town about 20 miles down the road has a PO that's the polar opposite - super clean; polite, attentive staff; if a 3rd customer walks in, they open another window. We've used the further away facility more than our own. 🤷🏼

It seems as though PO means something entirely different in their attitude towards the paying customer, and with the attitude they apparently want in us. They are often referred to as the postal orifice around here. Can't imagine why.🤔

🙄 Our youngest still lives in a rather large city. Her PO is staffed by 90% "box checkers". She just received a birthday card from her Aunt... Open, and with both $50 gift cards missing. 😡

I'd try to hide the shock, if there were any. Whenever possible, I send everything through the big 2. Even with porch pirates, I've found more success with the receiver getting the parcel. The government and theft are now synonymous, so I don't trust their employees.
