Not sure what happened but unless she threatened him, he was wrong to fire.

He was being scammed. Was told relative was in jail and needed bail money. He was threatened if he didn’t pay. And he was told somebody would come pick the money up. Scammer hired her as an Uber driver to pick up the money. He thought she was connected to whoever threatened him.

Sad but he was wrong to shoot her. I watched the news and saw the story after I posted earlier.

I’m wondering if the dash cam recorded their conversation.

Who would be at fault if someone got SWATTED and the cops killed the SWATEE? A jury might find he had a reasonable fear of his life.
That’s why we have have juries.

This is a good example of why you don’t mess with old people: Life in prison has a lot less meeting.

No, he was wrong, she was trying to leave, and he shot her, she never threatened him, and he will not be able to claim he was afraid for his life. He assumed she was the person on the phone but didn't know for sure. The best he can hope for is an ankle monitor, worst case he will die in prison.
