Yeah. Even Jesus had the Disciples carry a sword(wild animals, highwaymen). The problem came when Peter misused the weapon and cut off that guard's ear.

I think the issue for Christians is that we can protect ourselves BUT we have to be responsible for it. Drawing our guns at everyone who looks at us cross eyed is a big no-no. If someone wants to martyr me for believing in Christ then I hope I have the courage the 11 Apostles and countless others had and not go for the gun or whatever weapon I have.
