Yakuza: Infinite Wealth. Sega's most recent failure.

One of my biggest critiques of SEGA is how much attention they pay to Sonic while rarely doing anything with their other franchises like Billy Hatcher.

Yup. Unfortunately, Sonic is really the only thing that makes Sega money anymore, because of how frighteningly cult-esqe the Sonic fanbase is (As a result, they straight up abandoned most of their old franchises for the sake of pleasing the Sonic Zealots). Seriously, the game could be completely unplayable trash, yet they'll still eat it up. Sure, they may whine about it, but they'll just keep buying it, and they'll still try to convince themselves that it's good (Like what they're doing with Sonic '06 now).

Even worse is how Sega Bootlickers/Sonic Cultists brag about how much Sega supposedly "cares" about their fans, when in reality, they're just like any other company. They're in it for the profit and nothing more. The only difference being that they pretend to care about their fans, but then completely leave them alone afterwards. In a way, they're a lot like Valve. The fans are so dedicated to a company that doesn't even acknowledge that they even exist anymore. It's pitiful, isn't it?

Not gonna lie I am aware of the existence of Sonic 06 defenders (particularly on Deviantart and Reddit). I get that the game could have been better and can be enjoyable to some people, but that does change the fact that it is heavily flawed. More recently they started defending the Sonic/Elise bestiality thing from the game using all sorts of flawed logic and strawman arguments.

The biggest issue with the Elise thing is that aside from it being poorly executed it also used realistic humans and cartoon animals, which is very uncanny and creepy. Even some people who defended it agree that using realistic regular humans is weird and gross. But the fact that people are eagerly defending that scene with or without realistic humans and the idea of romancing mobians is disturbing. But then again there are people on reddit who are defending smashing pokemon, so it shoudnt be surprising.

For the most part, the game is under the "So-bad-it's-good" category as the abundance of boring levels and glitches as well as the nonsensical and laughable story (Which has more plot holes than swiss cheese, and is so stupid that even the game ret-cons itself to have never happened) makes it memorably awful. Also, it spawned Silver's (in)famous "IT'S NO USE" meme, so I guess that something good came out of this train wreck. And I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that the bestiality bits in the game are BEYOND vile, and Silver and Elise's character sucked so bad that SEGA themselves don't want anything to do with them (The worst part is that they both had serious potential, but SEGA and Sonic Team in their infinite "brilliance", completely botched them entirely! Especially Elise, because at least Silver has some fans)

You are absolutely right. But tbh the reason I think many people are defending Sonic 06 is because its being brought up so many times, so much to the point people resolve to defend it. But not gonna lie Ive seen some Sonic 06 defenders too who have brought the subject of the game into convos many times.

The one genuinely good thing about Sonic '06 is that it's soundtrack (While Bella generic at times) is actually pretty good.

Why is the Sonic fandom such a cesspit? I get that other fandoms are also cesspits, but for some reason, Sonic's fandom has taken the top spot for so many "Worst fandoms ever" lists since AT LEAST the early 2000s. I just never understood that! (The only ones that came close to the toxicity levels of the Sonic fandom were the Pokemon fandom, the TF2 fandom, and the MLP fandom, but even then, the Sonic fandom STILL managed to out-fail and out-suck ALL THREE of them in terms of it's own sheer toxicity levels... I want you to think about that for a minute...
