This is factually incorrect. The KJV is written in Shakespearean English, which is an earlier form of Modern English. Middle English is what Geoffrey Chaucer spoke and wrote, and is considerably harder to read.

If they told you KJV was in Middle English, they were tragically ignorant. Middle English is characterized by a much rougher, unblended in mix of Germanic and Romance words into the language. The Elizabethan/ Jacobean language you get in Shakespear and King James sometimes requires a glossary or explainer, but it doesn't need actual translation.
