Joe Biden is a Moderately Liberal Democrat like JFK. Also, like JFK, he puts a great deal of importance in reaching across the aisle. A little-known fact is that Richard Nixon was one of JFK's closest "friends," in Congress. He was among the few members invited to JFK's personal Birthday Parties. They met at a speaking engagement for Veterans in Congress in 1947. They maintained this closeness through the 1950's when they both were elected to the Senate. JFK's fragile health caused him to become bedridden and he received "Last Rites," from his Priest. Vice-President Nixon visited his "Death Bed," and promised to not use his tie-breaking vote in the Senate until JFK returned to his job. Jackie traced JFK's "miraculous," recovery to that visit. Nixon was his only friend who treated him like he wasn't dying.

Believe it or not, there was a time when people could disagree with each other and not publicly fantasize about being a dictator so they could punish those who disagreed with them. We will get back to those times, one day.
