I think the position is more that there are no "trans" people, only people suffering with a mental health issue due to an internal struggle with their sexuality.

I do not believe it to be virtue signaling to say they should seek psychiatric care instead of validating delusionary ideation.

Or worse some kind of suppressed trauma perhaps being molested as a child but blocked the horrific experience out. This is also something psychiatrists are able to do.
