Wut i got mine for 4K cheaper used thanks to those subsidies. Now I only spend 10 bucks a month on fuel. If I charged from home it’d be even cheaper…and mine only has a max range of 81 miles.

Also a reason that situation in your meme happened a lot was because Teslas were lying about their estimated range capabilities. Even when not accounting for the cold. In the cold they were Losing over 50% their range in the cold (compared to the discontinued rate of the bmw i3 of 36% and the i4s current loss of about 22%)

The government should not subsidize EVs or solar panels. if they can't stand on their own, they should not be promoted. I have no problem with tax money going to development, but some would disagree with that. The EV disaster is proof that government intervention in markets doesn't work. Car companies are scaling back EV production because no one is buying them. Billions wasted.

But they subsidize oil even more heavily than EVs?

Shouldn’t that mean both should be told to stand on their own?

I don't know how the US government subsidizes oil. Please explain. The oil companies have to pay for oil leases and taxes as far as I know.

Tax breaks, pollution controls, and expensing.
To the tune of the 3.2billion dollars.

Which is ridiculous as they are an established industry and don’t need it to make a profit. Especially when they are not taxed for their pollution.

Sure thing.

I'm not sure you read this post. "So where does the idea that fossil fuels are heavily subsidized for economic reasons come from?" "IMF considers not taxing pollution the same as subsidizing pollution." Maybe you should read the entire article, Aluma.

I did. He conceded that they do received the 3.2 billion instead of the 614 billion ims stated.

I don't doubt the fossil fuel business gets some kind of break at the expense of taxpayers and consumers, but I don't think it is direct subsidies.

Some of the subsidies are direct for drilling in America.

Drilling subsidies was not mentioned in the article you posted. Please post something that covers drilling subsidies, and remember, I will read it and cross-reference it so don't post misinformation.

My apologies it said domestic oil production which only implies does not specifically state it could also be just for refinement.
