A lot of cat owners miss it. I didn't notice until I was 24, after I found my biological mother. She introduced me to her polydactyl (too many toes) cat & said "He actually has 20 toes, isn't that weird?"

I think your average cat could get a friend to contribute the 2 extra claws when the need arises. We'll go with that as the cover story.
