At 99 years old, he doesn’t have that long to forgive and forget.

True, and after a marriage that has lasted so long, I think a little compromise would be in order. If you love someone, you have to forgive, forget and not dwell in the past. Now, if she is STILL cheating on him, then that is a different situation... :)

If she is cheating at 95, I would just tell her to have fun and practice safe sex.

That was very funny, BFF. But knowing you as I do (from imgflip, lmao), you are a very moral man and I seriously don't think that would be your reaction.

I do think you would stay with your wife but I also think that you would not put up with that behavior if it was still going on at age 95...am I right?

I would like to know the full story before I judge either one of them but as for me, I can't image a world without my wife. I tell her all the time that should had her chance she could have done better; I know I couldn't have. That said she sure is a sight in her muck boots, chasing animals like she was born into it.

He has two issues with her: 1) she cheated, 2) she took so long to admit it. Both issues create emotional distrust in the marriage. And what were the particulars of the affair- who, where, why, how long? At 99 years old, are those issues repairable through therapy in the time he has left to live?
He made a personal decision. It doesn’t have to be yours or anyone else’s.

He certainly is entitled to do whatever he feels is right. Everyone is unique in how they respond to different situations and there is no rule book.

I am a big believer in fidelity and would not ever cheat on my husband. I also am a big believer in marriage (and in compromise). In this instance, if I was the man, I would stay in the marriage as long as we both were still in love. I am not one to throw the baby out with the bathwater. That's just me and might not be the solution for others.b
