Insane leftists proclaim -- Merit? We don't need no stinkin' merit!

I saw this. The Olympics are a just one example of why the very best are sent. Of course, having mentioned that, we can now expect new records for the 400 meters to be a day and a half. Merit based selection is proven to yield the best results throughout human history. Doctors are often expected to be able to react calmly and with the right answer every time in high stress situations. Are we going to hire architects to design buildings that will fall on us? Electricians that get us electrocuted? Bridgebuilders that will give us something that crashes down with us on it? I love everything about rockets, and engineers are paid very well, but if you hire me to build any part of it, people will die. Same with every other high tech field. Just another fine example of bad ideas on steroids. Nothing to see here, right?

According to the average leftist, selecting people for high level training -- or for skills-related jobs BASED on skin tone and gender quotas -- automatically includes merit . . . because OBVIOUSLY those people must be superior and highly capable candidates due to White racism or misogyny or bigotry artificially keeping them down.

Of course the reality is that when skin tone and gender are the primary selection process the end result is that the 'trainee' or the new hire is at best a slightly below average performer . . . again, that is . . . at . . . best.

All members of the current administration come to mind .. for some reason..

Yep . . . nary a merit-based accomplishment or signs of outstanding competence between them.

Goodness. At this point, I'd like to see one of them that was lacking in incompetence.

He or she would certainly stand out from the crowd.
