I was a dead centrist until Obamacare ruined my State Healthcare. Voted for Bill Clinton. Now I lean conservative. Border crisis and cost of living cinches it for me.

I was a centrist leaning liberal until I got called a racist by fellow liberals for supporting Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama during the 2008 primaries because I figured she was more qualified to be president. That -- so to speak -- woke me up.

I then began actually paying attention to conservative thought rather than just kneejerk reject it due to my decades of ideological programming. To my growing horror I then discovered that conservatives were way more often correct than wrong and that liberal/progressive/leftist were more often wrong -- especially where long term consequences were concerned -- than correct. I then steadily drifted rightward.

Extremism is getting this country nowhere. The bottom line for me is quality of life. Half the republicans and most all the Dems are getting rich off these wars. The hold outs may be radical, but without them the truth wouldn't get out at all.

I think Biden is a war profiteer, and a lot of Dem voters today like you said, mean spirited bigots.

Yes. I am not naive enough to think that if the conservative movement gained control of this nation that egregious excesses would not occur. Absolute power; and so forth and so on. It's just that currently the increasingly insanely radical Left is the faction that has come perilously close to gaining absolute power and is obviously moving toward authoritarianism. Things need to be rebalanced.
