My First Computer .. What Happy Memories !

I never realized (you're probably) a Brit. Did you ever have Amiga?
My first was Atari 800 then many years on Amiga 1000.

I am British - I only ever had the Sinclair - in around 1982, I think.
I never had another computer until around 2004 !

I've a memory of paying £99.99 for the Sinclair ZX (around 1982) That was nearly two weeks wages ! :~)

I actually “used” that computer more than I use the newer ones. I wrote programs in basic and modified other software that was written in basic.
Now, I just click on stuff. I still have my first computer stored away. I should bring it out and load in some of the stuff I made back in the day :-)

I stil have mine and the tapes and tape player - One day, maybe ?

I started with the tape drive, but eventually sprung for the 5.25” floppy drive for $150, I believe. I’d love to rev that baby up again someday :-)

I remember it taking ages to load ... and regularly crashing before it was complete :~(
