Ever since she got wings, 401 would dread any time she felt pain anywhere. She was worried that it meant another painful transformation. She hated it. Her back would ache again, sending waves of anxiety through her: other days, her head, and others, her tailbone, and so on. These random jolts of pain sometimes caused her so much stress that she was on the verge of tears.
She was tired of being so scared and anxiety-ridden all the time.
Fvck it.
She can't do this alone anymore, lest she follow her impulses to end the pain. Even though she didn't want to harm Inkmatas by trying again, she had to try.
401 pulls out a phone she managed to save up for. It was very basic, being an old model fliphone that could only text and call. She gulped and entered in Inkmatas' number that she vaguely remembered.

Almost as soon as she set the message, 401 heard frail knocking on her "door". She got up and carefully opened the door, in part because it could break from the slightest thing and because she was nervous.
401 tried her best to maintain eye contact. "Welcome..." Her face was beet red from embarrassment.
Inkmatas smiled gently. "Hey," she put a hand on 401's shoulder. 401 glanced at it, then back at Inkmatas. "You don't have to be scared. I'm here."
401's shoulders relaxed as she returned a warm cautious smile.
"Thank you."
