If all businesses did it, the "free" shoplifting max would go up. Lawlessness is becoming the accepted norm, as are insanely ignorant solutions to real problems. These are everywhere. Government, business, communities, etc. The governmental entity, for instance, will come up with a plan to fix something, which generally speaking, makes overall things worse. The next "fix" option invariably must include the earlier option that didn't fix anything. We have.. eleven, twelve laws in place for buying/owning firearms? But when individuals determined to do evil things with weapons break those laws, more laws are demanded. If only there were 100 laws against breaking the law.. no one would do it is complete insanity.
