The militia referred to in the 2nd amendment has and always will be the citizenry and not the military. Because the founding fathers did not believe in standing armies.
This does not mean that I do not support the military, I do support them. Modern warfare is far to complicated for the average citizen.
But it also does not exclude the right of the people to defend the constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic.
