Yeah, I suppose it could be metaphorical for Vanessa (and possibly the player) being freed from Glitchtrap's control, but it could also be that specific strain of him going. However, Will's whole thing is always coming back so I doubt he's actually dead. Like I said before there's theories that he could simply hijack Mimic1 to stay alive.
