Upvoted; but the real reason that the Left's political leadership wants to disarm the citizens of this nation is so that they can go full authoritarian without fear of an armed citizenry telling them 'no' and making it stick.

To enslave a population -- or turn them into serfs -- you MUST first effectively disarm it. That is the plan and the real motivation behind this leftist movement.

Exactly. That's why the Left is not at all interested in the concept of disarming for peace-sake or to "stop violence". The Left has proven beyond doubt that they strongly favor war and massive scale death in other countries, as well as our own, so they're not really concerned about "stopping violence" and the absence of protests for peace in Ukraine or the Middle East fully exposes their true intention of ushering in full authoritarian centralized control.
