A crustacean is an Arthropod. Insects are also Arthropods. Hence the similarities.

Jews and Muslims who grew up not eating crustaceans but then did later in life will tell you the first time it was a most grotesque experience as to them it was like eating, well, bugs. Takes some getting used to.

Sow bugs are also crustaceans. I don't see anyone wanting that in their Alfredo sauce.
