I knew a man who was an Army photographer assigned to General Eisenhower. He was one of many ordered by the General to photograph death camps so that people would know what happened. One of the many attrocities of the Nazis was to try to make "useful products" from Jewish bodies, from soap, to fertilizer to even leather products. He was in the last horseback cavalry in Fort Robinson, NE, so when he saw a small leather whip for horses called a quirt laying on the ground in a death camp, he picked it up for a wartime souvenier, then immediately realized it was made from human skin.
I knew a number of people who had death camp tattoos on their arms forever. When the truth has no value to a generation, we are in very serious trouble.
