Wondering if this will point to the prophecy against Syria.. Damascus area. Since Hezbollah operates within both Lebanon and Syria. One way of maybe both getting rid of the storehouse of missiles and setting up the 7 year peace agreement.

I think this is probably a build up to the Ezekiel 38-39 war, which is far more intense than Gaza, that precedes the peace agreement. Isaiah 17:1 also plays in as you refer. I don't follow US news comprehensively since most is distorted, so they may be reporting this, but I have not seen it in the sites I follow. Israel has escalated bombings of Damascus (Hezbollah), beginning first at the airport there and at Allepo, and now are regularly targeting terrorist sites within Damascus as attacks generate from within city limits. As of last count they have bombed specific target in Damascus 20 times+.
One step in end times prophecy to remember is that Israel will also spend 7 years cleaning up after the Ezekiel war. Prophecy seems to indicate the clean up of atomic weapon residue to some scholars, when you see the volume of metal from destroyed missiles, there will be a lot of cleanup from that as well. Prophecy also describes a kosher proceedure used in Israel today for identifying human remains and marking them for recovery by specialized teams who follow Jewish law regarding the proper handling of the dead. These 7 year periods can be separate or overlap.
Just an aside regarding Damascus. The chant several years ago was that Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction. I heard an Israeli Major speak on this, the IDF had just positioned and commissioned a new spy satellite over Iraq as the Iraq war was building up. They observed truckloads of weapons and materialle (sp) being taken from known WMD sites and driven across the border to Syria where it was buried in a circle surrounding Damascus. The Israelis shared all of this intelligence with the US and were dumbfounded that Bush never mentioned it and let himself be smeared by the leftist no WMD claims. Our troops found indications of WMDs, but recovered few caches of WMDs. Fast forward to the "civil" war in Syria and Bashar Assad. Islam is not unified- Sunni and Shiites hate each other. Between them and ISIS and other bad actors (Iran), they have been fighting for control of this weapons stash, Russia has joined Syria to prevent these weapons and components from falling into the "wrong hands." That's one motivation for Assad gassing his own citizens- they are on the wrong side of the equation. Damascus will eventually be leveled like Allepo.

All great points! American and most western nation's media coverage are complete messes and devoid of journalistic integrity. Isaiah and Ezekiel prophecies are closer to being recognizably fulfilled than any other time in history. But western media, for the most part, wouldn't discuss biblical concepts in a non negative light if they were tortured.
