I really learned a lot from the Afghans, I will wait years before acting after the republic falls. Until it involves me, I will watch cities burn and go on about my day. Who sits on the throne in DC will not matter out here.

I'm in a similar situation, no major urban centers nearby, a lot of shared values around me. The Afghans waited out the Russians and every other invading hoard (including the US via Biden). Vietnam was much the same with the French and US. The key is to not be a high value target.
