Most of that is horse shit. Try not to read the most sensational crap you can find and look for more reliable sources. Columbus' men did things to natives were were abuse, but nothing like you describe is proven. Mostly they were forced to work in mines. How much of that Columbus knew about is not certain.

Columbus was jailed for a short time in Spain. I did look through the story a few months back. I'm not an expert, but I know the highlights.
