A black lady at the grocery store told me she was voting for Trump this time because the price of pork chops had tripled.

I ain't even making that up.

Out of the blue, in the parking lot after we had both checked out, she walked up to me and said,

"I'm voting for Trump this time. There meat went up triple. These pork chops were $4 last week and they cost me $12 today! You know they said that man is racist so I didn't vote for him. But there's racists in everybody, even black people. I'm voting for Trump! Got me spending all my money on these pork chops trying to feed my grandchildren!"

Background information:

Whole pigs, pork butts, chops, any cut of pig, were between 79¢ and $1.99/lb...then overnight, BOOM, $2.99 - $5.99/lb.

I don't think I'd base a campaign on cheap swine.

Although, I seem to remember a guy winning on a "Chicken in every pot" slogan. 😄

The political adage is that it's ALWAYS the "economy stupid" when it comes to presidential elections. Apparently the key to using this, however, resides in people being AWARE of how much the current president and his or her party has hurt their pocket books BEFORE voting begins. I think that this time around, people are definitely in the know.

The only hope that the DNC has at this point is to force Biden out of the race and for Kamala -- or his predesignated replacement -- to hysterically denounce the GOP for somehow colluding with big business to rig prices while never EVER mentioning Bidenomics. At that point it then comes down to the STUPIDITY factor of the average voter . . . which then re-enters iffy territory.
