There’s a simple solution: parent better. Learn to take away these kinds of privileges from your child if they are letting a video game consume their life like this.

Is there something to be said about micro-transactions and addictive game designs? Yes. Are there companies out there that create games to be addictive and rely on monthly player count? Yes.

But at the end of the day, you as a parent are responsible for your own money and the money your child is spending. The kid is also to blame for letting something like this consume him. I like playing video games of course. But I don’t spend $350 a MONTH on it!!!! I feel bad even when I buy $20 worth of games in a month.

ONG. Did you hear that parents are trying to pass a bill to censor the internet because they don’t want to watch their kids? I like spending a little bit on my clash Royale but that’s 12 a month for Diamond pass as a maximum. 350 is just addicted.

There is definitely an argument to be made for microtransactions and predatory lootbox mechanics to be the problem. A lot of people compare them to drugs, gambling, and other things of the sort.

Here's the thing. No parent would ever let their teen child partake in gambling or drugs. If people genuinely think that it is child gambling, then parents should be taking away these consoles and not letting their kids play those games if they're getting that addicted to it. At the very least, add parental controls and remove the credit card from that account to stop them from spending so much.
