Israel just wants to live in peace and has extended the olive branch many many times, only to have the Palestinians beat them with it.

Why should “WE” do that?
Isn’t that incumbent on the Palestinians to that.
Let them show the world that they can be peaceful and live peacefully.
We’ve given the Palestinians tons of money and all they do is spend it on weapons.

Richard Nixon's heroic "Opening," to China changed the history of the world. In the 1960s and 1970s they were exporting "revolution to Asia." By the mid-1990s they were exporting cheap CD Players to America and Europe. They are now quietly exporting agriculture and fiscal stability to rural Africa. They are not perfect. But I prefer this version of their foreign policy to the one I grew up with. This change would not have happened without Nixon having us get involved. Yes, WE should help change history again through creative capitalism.

According to research by Nathan French who is a Professor of Religion at Miami University, your numbers may be inflated. I saw numbers like yours attributed to the Times of Israel, which may have an interest in an upward skewing of those polls. I don't think Palestinians living in Gaza love Israel and the United States. According to Mr. French's research they are not all that crazy about Hamas.

A Washington Institute poll from July 2023 found that only 57% of Gazans held a “somewhat positive” opinion of Hamas. That lukewarm endorsement of Hamas is different than how Gazans responded to a Palestinian researcher who asked their views of a possible armed resistance to a potential Israeli military occupation such as the one now occurring. Some 79% said they supported generic armed response.

Never-the-less I expect Israel to prevail over Hamas. Hamas probably expected the reaction we have seen to their attack. They underestimated the support their blood-thirsty savagery would evoke for Israel. Many people have misgivings about how rough the Netanyahu government has made things for Gazans. But we still support Israel's right to peacefully exist and defend itself when attacked.

My proposal is for the long term. After Hamas has been dispatched.
