In 2020 alone, the CDC reported 350,831 deaths in which COVID-19 was the underlying cause of death listed on the death certificate; of those deaths, 19,413 occurred in the decedent’s home, Not including nursing homes or hospice care
Just because someone dies in a hospital, doesn’t mean the hospital is the cause of the persons death. When someone figures they’re gonna die from an injury or disease really soon if they don’t get treatment, first place they’re gonna go is the hospital. Sometimes that state of condition can be too extreme to be treatable, so they die in the hospital anyway. Either at home or at the hospital, they would have died regardless of what they did because the sickness or condition was too much to handle.
On another note, The flu isn’t the same as Covid if you have a compromised immune system or if you’re elderly, it’s usually far worse. And You can’t really compare it to the flu with deaths when about 19,000 people died from the flu last year (the highest amount in a little while) and about 244,000 people died from Covid last year.
