Well, the big difference is that independent media, like Russel Brand and similar style online personalities do not violate any of the rules for monetization, yet YouTube goes against their monetization policy simply because they don't like what they're saying. YouTube claims certain legal protections as a form of "press", but then they also want to claim mutually exclusive protections as a "private" enterprise. The OP is making fun of the huge hypocrisy of censoring a person who is complaining about censorship.
