The fact that people complain about apparent contradictions in the Bible is not a drawback, but actually allows us to hold elected officials to impossibly high standards. "All things work together for those who love God" or something like that is the Bible quote, right?

There's no impossibly high standards to bind us because Jesus Christ fulfilled them all. Those in government have no excuses for the way they act.
