Honestly FBI never should've been. Sure there was a problem with criminals crossing state lines which caused jurisdiction issues (which was partly the justification/excuse for creation of FBI) but at the time stale and local law didn't screw around either. And instead of investigating corruption within local and state government(Chicago, Illinois), the FBI seemed to only go after the criminals but not the crooked politicians. Sure we hear about Al Capone and even Bonnie & Clyde but what about the politicians that let things get out of hand?



Then there as the civil rights movement. Seems to me the FBI was more concerned about peaceful protestors than violent lynchers.

J Edgar made sure he got the dirt on the dirty politicians to ensure his agency continued and power was increased. He couldn’t very well compromise his own pigeons.

In 1908, the FBI was established. And guess who was the POTUS back in 1908? Theodore Roosevelt. He was a Republican. However to be fair, PBS described him as a moderate Progressive. This meant the FBI was established before the party switch.



But these days, the FBI haven't even locked up Trump and Hunter Biden was spared from jail by the skin of the teeth. Hunter was a lot closer to end up locked up than Trump because the FBI favour the Republicans. Always have, always will do

The current FBI is owned and operated by the Democrat leftists. It’s history was as an America supporting government agency instead of an enforcement arm of leftist ideology.
