Frontiers was my first Sonic experience, and as someone who hates open world games, Frontiers is a decent example of how to do it right.

People called it a Ubisoft clone which could not be farther from the truth.

Frontiers was great! It was far from perfect, but the new gameplay style and combat were engaging and fun. The story was a major improvement from pretty much every game in the last decade as well. Sure, it has some bugs, and there will always be nitpicks. But that doesn't stop a game from being fun. Frontiers was actually my first experience with an open world game, not counting Minecraft, and I found it enjoyable and easy to comprehend.

If this is the framework for the next 10 years of Sonic like SEGA announced, I’m all for it.

They likely won't add new starfall islands. They'll likely use a similar "open zone" concept in other locations entirely. Sonic games are usually pretty good about having the main story be in new locations every time. (just don't look at green hill zone lmao)

I didn't play Superstars and I probably won't... especially on PC because I heard that port is awful.

Exactly, why require that if I bought the game on Steam? People don't like launchers and accounts to begin with, and people especially hate having to use multiple just to play a game. Plus the game also has DeNuVo.

Console people don't have this issue. That's the problem.

Only new game I got this year is Dead Space. Let's hope it stays that way. I'm frugal like that.

I try not too spend much on games too. The only game I actually bought this year was Pokemon Violet, my first big dip in the Pokemon series (pretty fun. I didn't really deal with the bugs and glitches that I've seen ppl complain about)

Okay I did get the Ratchet & Clank PC Port but it was on a key shop for $33. Plus it's 2021 so not exactly "new".

Other than that, I have 70+ other games in my backlog that I need to get around to playing before I even think about buying a new game.
