Uh-huh. 95-99% of politicians are like this (regardless of party), saying whatever it takes to get into or stay in power. It's all flash and bang shows for the little people like us to stay distracted. But you can legitimately consider moving to another country as it seems like neither of your preferred candidates is likely to be installed into power.
