Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven,
Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the Nightly shore—
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!"
            Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."

I wonder how Edgar Allan Poe would feel if he knew how the word "Nevermore" is being utilized for a certain Netflix series.....

IF YOU ARE REFERRING TO NEVERMORE UNIVERSITY, I THINK IT'S AN APPROPRIATE NAME TO HONOR THE MACABRE GENRE. HE'D PROBABLY APPRECIATE THE IMMO | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
My favorite thing about Poe is his use of the macabre.

My mind immediately went to Netflix's The Fall of the House of Usher.

I just watched the trailer for it. Doesn't look like a series based on Poe...maybe gothic macabre, though. Was it good?

It's pretty good. It's very loosely based on several Poe stories/poems, including The Masque of the Red Death, which I happened to have recently read and then watched (Vincent Price movie adaptation).

It's only a little over 2,000 words though.

I know...I was disappointed it was so short. But I made a new meme about it for this stream.

I once heard someone recite this by heart: not just by memory. It is INCREDIBLE when spoken! It's like listening to a painting being made within your mind.
