Well, you have to the biological/scientific facts, you can call yourself whatever you want but in all reality you can’t change your gender at all, you are what you’re born as and that’s… permanent.

Well yes, I know she's right, but she could at least make an effort to respect me.
It really f**king hurts because she acts like she loves me and sends me gifts and texts to check on me but I f**king hate talking to hurt because she doesn't respect me. Whenever she calls my mom to talk to us I either run to my room or stay quiet and act like I'm napping or not there.

I'm drawing a parallel between non-trans people telling trans people that they're merely confused, and non-religious people telling religious people that they're merely confused. Worse than that even, because in both cases it involves a refusing to even acknowledge the validity of the other person's feelings/beliefs.

Gender is a social construct. Inclination regarding gender has a biological component, but so does every subjective preference. Sex is rooted in biology but even it isn't completely binary, as evidenced both by the existence of intersex and transexual individuals.
