it's not the quality that's the problem, my phone actually takes way too detailed photos that take up 2 to 6 MB per picture (screenshots are just as bad, if not worse, in terms of memory space taken up)
it's just that imgflip can't handle these multi-megabyte photos so i used the image resizer to set it to ⅓ of it's original size and further optimize the space taken up, even then they're only about 400-500 KB per image
