Yes, but it goes throughout the Dem Party's leadership. I truly think that Joe Biden is a hyper-corrupt but -- at this point -- near mindless puppet. He is a figurehead. The real leader is a team of anonymous handlers . . . and they are the ones denying RFK, Jr. traditional Secret Service protection in the hope that he actually will be assassinated.

RFK, Jr. MUST know well enough how the 'game' is played to realize that they just might make SURE that he gets assassinated. Those are the behind the scenes movers and shakers that need to be taken down by the full force of the law.

A president or anyone else shouldn't be able to tell the Secret Service who they are or aren't obligated to protect.

I agree, but I think the Secret Service remit is to first serve and protect the sitting president and so if he or she says 'no' then no it is. I could be wrong about that, however, since it's been many years since I looked into it.
