I think I want to try The Evil Within next just because I got it for free from Epic Games and I want to try emulating the launcher on my Steam Deck. Just to see if it works.

I've heard mixed things. Does it ruin the story? Is it no longer a horror game? What's wrong with it?

They removed basically all horror

Gave it unneeded co-op with the co-op character literally having no personality

and added fecking MICROTRANSACTIONS

I see. I don't necessarily mind them leaving horror out of it (I personally never found Dead Space that scary), but I can see why it would be an issue.

Dead Space is 2 is the best in my opinion, you might find it scary, there were a few times it got my heart racing, because of Issac having hallucinations, jumpscares can happen out of literally nowhere
