You know that they themselves acknowledge that the were people living there before they arrived, right? Even the name Palestine comes from the name for the Philistines who were a pre-existing nation at the time.

That is incorrect. The philistines arrived after everyone else and only occupied a small corner of the region. The area had many names and was only officially called Palestine by a Roman Emperor trying to piss off Jews who were rebelling. There was never an official Palestine or Israel until 1947.

So the Philistines came AFTER 1948? AD?
1 up, 9mo,

No. They were there but they didn't have an official state.

Except they did.

No

And where's your proof other than a currency only used amongst themselves in their one small area of the region that no one not even them recognized as a state?

Well, you better tell the entire Jewish community that their Holy Text is wrong. Let me know how that works out for you.
2 ups, 9mo,

Holy texts are almost always wrong about science and history. They are always written to favor a certain cultures point of view.

So the Holy Text referred to by some Eastern Europeans who declared they were absentee landlords for 2000 yrs ain't legit?
1 up, 9mo,

Holy texts are never legit.

So the claim by a group of Europeans with an admixture of Jewish DNA doesn't even have that fanciful bit of support?

If you're trying to favour the perspective of a certain culture and yet you STILL have to write about how your culture came to a place that already had people and it initiated a series of brutal wars of settlement and conquest...

...then, well, that part is probably true. 🤷‍♀️

Again the Philistines showed up after the Jews and others. Nor were they an official state since nomadic tribes don't usually have states so much as tribal boundaries.

The area - the Middle East - was basically the middle of the world, a crossroads between Africa and Eurasia with various peoples passing through for MILLIONS of years. All humans are nomadic, hence why they ain't where they originated in Africa.

Hebrews themselves were originally nomadic herders, either foreigners in Canaan or rural Canaanites themselves, possibly combining with more urban Canaanites before splitting off from the rest of the country and developing their own society.

By their own accounts they've been removed from this land multiple times and that for extended periods, the last been the previous TWO MILLENIA.

And now they’re back in their ancestral homeland, as God wants it.
And here’s the really really cool thing…
they’re here to stay.

Not according to ultra-Orthodox Jews. Hasidics don't recognize 'Israel' as deliverance wasn't by the Hand of Yahweh, it's a secular state ceated by Britain and America, an impediment against prophecy being fulfilled.

That's nice.

You show me where the Messiah lead them back to the Promised Land in 1948.

I'll wait.

Oh look, textbook colonialism. It doesn't count if WE don't recognize it as a REAL country.
1 up, 9mo,
2 replies
It was never recognized as a real country. All land is colonized, and that particular area cannot be claimed by any one culture and Israel and Palestine where never officially recognized states. These days yes, back then no because nomads had no need of states. And you are still missing the point that Arabs were the last to the party.

False
As the birthplace of civilization, there is nothing on this side of the galaxy that would even pretend to jest that they weren't there first. Heck, their presence and influence is so pevasive that formally ancient Egyptians had been classified as Semites and those from the Horn of Africa have been classified as Caucasians that came from Yemen, turns out that isn't quite the case...
