Christians are just as capable of sinning like that as non-Christians are. I’m not stupid.

And it’s not a matter of probability or statistics. It’s a matter of it being allowed to happen by the laws and you know that people change over time.

Can I blame him? No. Because he grew up and got married in a different time.

Doing your best to follow the commandments isn’t the point of being a Christian or being married. But it’s certainly not a bad thing.

What my dad’s saying is a true Christian wouldn’t get divorced. That’s like saying a true Christian would never lie. Of course they would! They’re sinful. They’re just as capable of doing it.

Let me be clear, I don’t disagree with the institution itself. If you want to get married, go for it. I wish you luck.

it's just that the commandments are a part of being faithful, and they don't allow adultery (cheating)

Technically the point of the 10 commandments is to show how impossible it is for us to follow them. The only one who did keep them is Jesus.
