Or, save up and buy it with cash..

Take out a 15 year loan instead of a 30,

Pay more than the minimum each month and it knocks years off the loan

Do nothing and stay a rent for life

It's not fair that land costs more for young people than for old people.

Bullshit. It costs the same for young and old.

Old people bought the land but it went up in value along with wages. So young people have to pay them more than they paid.

Oh, btw….land doesn’t pay taxes…the man(or woman) who owns the land pays the taxes. So even your username is wrong 😑

Nature and the community provide ongoing value that is represented in the rental value of land even though an individual may own it. That revenue is fair to tax since it's the only tax that ISN'T theft.

Where do you get all of this bullshit from, son?
Someone sure is doing you a huge disservice.

You lost your argument when you said “wages went up”

The fact that land prices increase with rising wages is a bug, not a feature.

So you want things to be like they were on the 1870’s?

And I had to pay more than my parents and grandparents paid…the wheel keeps on turning.
Grow up, get educated, get a decent job, or better yet, start your own business and become wealthy.
If I can do it, anyone can do it. All it takes is hard work!

An individual can thrive within any system no matter how corrupt it is. So, the ability to succeed within a system does not prove it's fair.

Never said it was fair. Life is not fair, boy.
That is the first fact of life…life is not fair.
The sooner that you grasp and understand that, the better off you will be.

Also, those “old people” who bought that land were young people when they bought it.

It still wasn't fair for them to be rent cattle and tax cattle all their lives instead of living in a sane reality and doing what they want with their own time and money, with their lives.

There’s a senior discount available for land? Hell, why didn’t I know that?

Its called demand. Its the core component of a market. Land is cheap....go for it...it just happens to be an undeveloped dessert plot.

If land were cheap, we would have more owners and fewer renters and mortgage-payers.

Wha?

Well, if you pay property taxes, you are in fact, paying rent. If you don’t pay your taxes, the county and/or state will evict you from your property, after “due process”, of course. You may own your land out right, but don’t pay your taxes, and you will get evicted in most states.

Failure to pay income tax means going to jail, which is a lot worse than losing property. How is it less fair to pay land value tax than a tax on labor? Income tax means we don't own our bodies. We are cattle.

Property taxes…stay focused!

Property tax is actually 2 taxes, one on land and one on the structure. One makes sense, the other doesn't.

The difference between land and labor is the basis of classical economics but we live under "neo-classical" economics, which treats everything the same. That's how society got tricked into paying rich people to use land.

Oh stop.
Stop trying to tell me something you know extremely little about.
With your limited knowledge and your attitude you are doomed to pay rent for the rest of your life.
I and many others have tried to educate you, but you seem to have some kind aversion to learning or taking good advise.
Buh-bye
