The uber Communist magazine, Mother Jones, is (ir)responsible for promoting the story that the Ford Pinto explodes on impact. NBC News (being avid readers of Mother Jones magazine) then reported it to the nation.
Too bad for those communists, the Pinto never exploded any more than any other car with its gas tank in the back, which is every other car on the road.
However, the world is better off without ugly cars and the Pinto wasn't much to look at. But that is up to the consumer to decide and not a bunch of anti-capitalist communists doing what ever they can to stop capitalism (i.e. ending the people right to buy whatever they want).
