4 planes actually. 3rd crashed into the pentagon I think, the 4th crashed in a field somewhere. happened because the terrorists lost control of the plane after the passengers took control I think.

It was a big and threatening terrorist attack. Many people lost their lives in it and more died trying to help. It changed the way American security systems worked.
