An operation like this one doesn't just happen. It was well planned and key personnel were trained and deployed to critical points of entry. The demonstrators deployed to the theater of operations by Trump were fodder meant to create the distraction and confusion needed for skilled players to carry out the mission of intimidation intended to delay the certification. They just underestimated the skills, innovation and dedication to duty of Capitol and D.C. Police when put to the test. A brigade of cops saved our Democratic Republic from an otherwise overwhelming force.
The outcome would have been different if the "grunts," knew the true mission. But, a majority of them would not have knowingly participated in an insurrection. Many would do what they could to stop it. After all, it was their protective tendencies that Trump tapped into when he recruited them for the job.
